→ Ten apps is all I need

David on 37Signals makes a good point about the number of apps being less important than the quality of the top 10 apps. He hits the sad truth about Nokia:

But the established wisdom now is that you cannot win without hundreds of thousands of apps. And unfortunately Nokia bought that “wisdom” and now they’re just going to become a WinPhone distributor with benefits. Woopedidoo.

It’s sad, because Meego and more specifically the Nokia N9 seem to have a lot of potential, and they have already been sacrificed to Windows Phone — which the doesn’t even have many apps yet.
